Want Nature, a walk in the forest?

Stroll along the banks of the Sèvre Nantaise

Just a few minutes from the Hôtel la Chaumière, no less than 25 hectares of green valley, river and various monuments await you!
As a couple or with friends, whether you are alone or accompanied, take the time to stroll along the Sèvre Nantaise river from Saint Laurent sur Sèvre in Vendée.
The banks of the Sèvre Nantaise are a delight for the eyes, hearing and smell.
We recommend a small loop in this valley which passes through vast meadows, bridges, fords and other buildings linked to the crossing of the Sèvre Nantaise in the hollow of this magnificent valley.

Le Moulin de l'Etournaux

First along the river, you can stop at the Moulin de L'Etournaux, one of the most famous water mills along the Sèvre Nantaise.

You may have to cross a few locks, a magnificent spectacle where the water tries by all means to make its way through the human buildings built in the past. Please note that the crossing of certain locks obviously depends on the season and the rainfall. But rest assured there is always a way to overcome all obstacles whatever the season.

During your walk you will have to cross the Eiffel Bridge, a magnificent, solid building which is the delight of the Vendée Steam Train and the tourists who use it every summer.

If you have the courage to climb the few stairs that lead straight to the top of the building, you will have the privilege of seeing the Sèvre Valley from the heights of the Eiffel Bridge. A beautiful show not to be missed under any circumstances...

It is not uncommon to meet a few fishermen along the way, the natural obstacles that litter the river are all natural refuges for fish.

Throughout the course, nature is not left out, especially the so-called aquatic species that abound such as dragonflies. Fauna, flora, aquatic animals, a delight for the hiker..

You will end your short walk by crossing a small typical hamlet with small houses on the edge of Sèvre which have kept all their typicality with stairs reminiscent of the old Vendée houses.
